My Visit to a Melbourne Japanese Restaurant
Saturday 8 August 2009 @ 4:57 am

If you are in the mood for a culinary chef-d’oeuvre, then you should visit Takumi. This Melbourne Japanese restaurant is the best of its kind. The food is top notch and the design and atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing.

Takumi is the only Japanese restaurant in Melbourne that offers Wagyu beef. If you don’t know what Wagyu is, it is a premium grade cut of beef. It is so tender and juicy, it can almost melt in your mouth. This beef is the main ingredient in many dishes offered in the restaurant. Many visitors enjoy it as a burger, grilled and marinated with Sukiyaki sauce. If you do not fancy having burgers, give the Wagyu Yakiniku lunch set a try. The beef is served raw and is cooked on a smokeless grill. Accompanied by vegetables and a complimentary glass of beer or wine. Not only does this taste flavoursome, but being able to see it prepared is an great experience.

This Japanese restaurant may specialize in Wagyu beef, but that is not the only delicacy it has to offer. The bento box is also a well-known lunch option among regular visitors. Takumi offers a few options on the main entree for the bento box. A common Japanese entree is Gyoza. These pan fried dumplings are super good and addictive. One is definitely not enough. If you like something different, order yourself the Unagi Bento Box. Unagi is smoked grilled eel and is a very popular and delicious Japanese restaurant dish.

The decor and lighting of the restaurant has a very zen-like feel. You will feel right at home when dining here. The sleek and comfortable high back chairs and subtle ornaments have a calming affect and allows you to feel like you are having a quiet meal at home, even though you are in the presence with other people.

Overall, Takumi is a wonderful Japanese restaurant. From their delicious menu offerings, to the many different Saki choices, this Melbourne Japanese restaurant is number one in my book.

Jain’s Move to Washington
Saturday 8 August 2009 @ 12:11 am

While India has its cold areas, it can also be a very hot place. Renowned Bellevue, Washington entrepreneur Naveen Jain knows this since he is originally from this nation. He had just completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration at Xavier Labour Relations Institute in Jamshedpur when he migrated to the United States. Equipped with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Jain attempted to pursue a career in America’s money-making technology business in 1982.

Jain first settled in New Jersey where he worked at Burroughs Corporation (later called Unisys), a former arithometer company that sold adding machines. Since he was used to the hot climate in India, Jain had difficulty adjusting to New Jersey’s chilly setting. With that, he moved to the Pacific coast, in the state of Washington. Earlier, Jain worked from one technology conglomerate to another. Finally, in 1989, he landed a job at Microsoft Corporation, one of the fastest growing startup companies in the state. Jain worked on a team that developed the OS/2. He also helped develop MS-DOS, Windows NT and Windows 95, the patent rights of which are still with him up to this day. Later on, he would promote and release the corporation’s online assistance network, Microsoft Network (MSN).

Following his seven years under Microsoft, Naveen Jain decided to build his own business. Together with several of his co-workers from Microsoft, Jain founded InfoSpace Inc in 1996 at the time of the dot-com boom. Ever since it went public in 1998, the company astounded market analysts with its fast-developing stocks and acquisitions. Before the end of that era, InfoSpace had a net worth of $31 billion. Because of this, the company was acclaimed by the Wall Street Journal.

After his resignation from InfoSpace, Naveen Jain put up his second company in January 2003 called Intelius Intelius provides services such as pre-employment screening, identity theft protection, background checks, reverse cell phone, people searches, and community reviews. Since its inception, Intelius has helped about seven million consumers. For chief executive officer Jain, the productive success of his current company is a sign that he is gearing up for his eventual reign over the technology industry.
